Andy Garth: Typically topical
Sorry, I did say I was announcing the next auction this week, but I am a week premature so instead I have found a couple of photos that, in theory could have been taken last weekend at the London to Brighton bike ride.
So the first photo is the traffic at the Old Steine with day trippers arriving for some fun on Whit Monday 1966, so imagine, no air con, no electric windows, power steering and all the other mod cons we are used to, and only 4 gears, double de-clutching and top speeds much lower, arriving in Brighton for a jolly (the only benefit was very cheap parking and in most streets… free parking, so nothing changes apart from it’s now a more luxurious gridlock).

So to the second photo of a great comedian (Billy Connolly) who has just been Knighted and in 1986 did the annual bike ride and doesn’t even look out of breath.
I promise to let you have the all of the information on the next auction next week.
If you need any more info you can pop in the shop at 28 Western Road Hove or email Brightonandhovestuff@gmail.com
