Silver-toned Jacqui Dankworth and hubby Charlie Wood are a musical match made in heaven. Dankworth’s romantically charged performance with the Memphis born blues musician, is reminiscent of Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine’s harmonious performances together. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Dankworth is a virtuoso vocal powerhouse with incredible range. She has the ability to sing any musical genre. This really came to light during the jazz quartet’s expressive spiralling rendition of Noel Harrison’s ‘The Windmills of Your Mind’. To also experience this hypnotic blues inspired jazz-soul ensemble in an intimate jazz club setting would be sublime.
