Dave Arcari

Many modern musicians play at being bluesmen but Arcari proved he was the real deal, stalking the stage spitting and growling like a cross between Joe Strummer and Howlin’ Wolf. With an arsenal of National steel guitars at his disposal he played authentic delta blues licks with a bottle neck and a swagger. His ‘I Won’t Go Without A Fight’ was a punked up ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ that proved itself equal to the spirited covers of legendary Hopkins and Hurt classics, all delivered with a growling Glaswegian brogue. Arcari showed tonight that the blues legacy is safe in his hands.
