Secret Affair

The Bank Holiday Mods invasion was rewarded with the ace faces of the late ’70s Mod revival playing to the best dressed crowd of the year. With original members Ian Page and David Cairns still in place on vocals and guitar and enhanced with a strong brass section they mixed well-chosen Motown numbers, including Northern Soul classic Do I Love You, with favourites from their early albums. Page’s voice seemed to have improved with age and the ‘we are the Mods’ chant was perfectly timed for their anthem ‘Time For Action’. ‘My World’ closed the tight set before being called back for a three song encore.
