The magic of Christmas and the wonder of the circus collide to create a spectacle that will delight all ages when The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio comes to Brighton for the festive season.

Local theatre company JW Productions, working with The Circus Project, Windmill Young Actors, Natalie Sexton Associates, and other local organisations will bring a performance rich in sumptuous costume, fabulous circus feats, wonderful music and the very best of local theatre talent for this most magical of pantomimes.

Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts will be the venue for this beloved story of the little puppet made of wood who comes alive for Geppetto the puppet-maker. ACCA (formerly The Gardner Arts Centre) sits on the Sussex University Campus, directly off the A27, five minutes walk from Falmer train station and is served by the 25 Brighton & Hove Buses.

Three young actors from across Sussex will take on the titular role

Casting is well under way, with local actress Gina Cameron (ex-Eastenders) confirmed as the Good Fairy, and Hove-based celebrity Brian Capron lending his voice to the show. News is anticipated shortly about one of the CBBC stars joining the cast.

Auditions have been held in Brighton with over 100 local children turning up to try out for the 12 available parts. Three young actors from across Sussex will take on the titular role while 11 children will complete the chorus, and six young performers from The Circus Project will add some high flying antics to the show.

James Weisz, the panto’s director, says: “Pinocchio, as with all our productions, is no exception in being the perfect introduction to the theatre for children, with our blend of storytelling, high quality production values, first class comedy and bags of energy. We are also lucky enough to have Brighton resident Patric Kearns, scripting this delightful tale: Patric is no stranger to panto as he writes the Theatre Royal Lincoln’s annual Christmas offering and has played dame for almost twenty years!”.
