SOS! Save Our Schools

Save our schools, or SOS in short, is a parent-led group, based in Brighton and Hove, who are campaigning against the massive funding cuts to education.

Save our Schools together with Fairer Funding for Schools yesterday had a national day of action reaching Manchester and the Isle of Wight called ‘Arms Around our Schools’.

Simply – teachers, parents and children came together at the end of the school day and linked their arms outside the main school gates to symbolise their love for schools and teachers as well as demand a reversal to the on-going education funding cuts due to be discussed at the autumn budget this coming November the 22nd SOS claims schools across the city will be deprived of £14 millions over the next three years, that’s the equivalent of almost £ 500 per pupil.

The campaign is supported by the MPs for Brighton and Hove’s three constituencies Caroline Lucas, Peter Kyle and Lloyd Russell-Moyle, who delivered the message directly to Downing Street .
