GoGo Penguin: Koyaanisqatsi

Tonight the citizens of Brighton were impressed by an innovative show presented by a band from Manchester, known as GoGo Penguin. They performed outstanding acoustic-electronic sounds over the cult film, Koyaanisqatsi.

The imagery was a series of clips portraying everything from inevitable disaster to a functioning society. One of the most fascinating parts reminds us about the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, showing the consequences of war.

It focuses on society and the significance of each individual. The show is a true reflection of real life and the people who were unconsciously living and simply existing, without having passion in their eyes. Could this be a mirror of ourselves?

Overall, it directs our attention towards serious topics through colourful images and dramatic melodies. It was a fantastic show, which caused the hall to echo with a frantic applause. It is a highly recommended show that is of interest to everyone.
