P. P. Arnold

Celebrating 50 years in the music business and looking and sounding half her age, Arnold began her show with a dynamic tribute to former boss Tina Turner. She’d borrowed Steve Craddock’s band, who provided the perfect backing for her powerful vocals as she worked through her ‘lost’ album from the late 60s, which has just been released, alongside the classic hits penned by the likes of Steve Marriott and Mick Jagger. Like Edwin Starr she has been adopted by the UK as our own Queen of Soul and judging by tonight’s stellar performance she’ll reign supreme for many years to come.
