BREMF – PER IMITAR LA VOCE

With brilliant virtuosity and an amazing lightness of touch, the three artists most responsible for the instrumental glories of ORFEO, BREMF 2017’s sensational opera, Gawain Glenton (cornetto), Oliver Webber (violin) and Claire Williams (organ) came to the fore in a recital of bravura works that illustrated the way early Baroque masters strove to imitate the human voice. Flourishes, runs, trills and decorative colouring of all sorts were all executed faithfully to the period style, with written or extemporary ornamentation and complete mastery of the instruments. It’s rare that singers would ever sound as good and these imitations were absolutely marvellous!
