A view from the Rostrum: Parson Son & Basley’s Simon Caplin: A very warm welcome to our second auction of 2018

Simon-Caplin

Happily the weather is a lot nicer than it was during our sale in February, although even the arctic conditions and the snow could not prevent us having what was a very successful day, much to the delight of our clients.

For this auction we will be continuing with our initiative to include a charity lot as donated by one of the local businesses we are pleased to be associated with. The entire proceeds of the sale will be going to our chosen charity, which on this occasion we are delighted to announce will be Chestnut Tree House, a wonderful charity who provide end of life care for terminally ill children. We are very grateful to Hamed Ovaisi and his team at So Legal Solicitors who have kindly donated the charity lot for this particular auction.

As a company, we are committed to help local charities and will be continuing to do so throughout 2018 at each of our auctions. We started off in February by raising £300 for the Clock Tower Sanctuary, who help the homeless in Brighton & Hove, by auctioning a race track day at Brands Hatch – something that I am pleased to say attracted a lot of interest!

We do have a real cross section of properties to offer you for this auction, ranging from a single garage in central Hove to an unbroken freehold investment comprising of 14 self-contained flats all fully let on Assured Shorthold Tenancies producing a rental income of £140,000 per annum. We also have an exceptional selection of buy-to-let investments, a building plot with planning permission just off Sackville Road, as well a very nice flat in Sussex Square, one of Brighton’s most sought-after locations. In Bates Road, just off Surrenden Road, a three storey 3-4 bedroom terraced house provides for versatile accommodation or, subject to planning permission, conversion into two maisonettes.

Over in Shoreham, we have a quite delightful and substantial detached family home in Buckingham Road with a west-facing garden, private drive and garage. A parcel of land in Greencourt Drive, Bognor Regis will no doubt be attracting a lot of interest, as will no doubt a substantial detached residence in The Kingsway, Bognor Regis. So, as I am sure you will agree, a very eclectic selection of properties for you to invest in is being offered for sale.

We are expecting another packed auction room so please do make sure you arrive in plenty of time to register to bid if you haven’t already done so, and take advantage of the complimentary teas, coffees and cookies that will be available to you.

Jennifer, myself and the team very much look forward to seeing you on 2nd May at the Old Ship Hotel in Brighton at 11am.
