The Importance Of Being Earnest
The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde tells the tale of two gentlemen who go to lengths to hide their true identities from the women they love, before finally realising the value of being true to oneself.
As one of the most loved and often performed plays, this is a good production with a talented cast. The set is impressive and another triumph at the Devonshire Park. The star of the show however is the play itself, surely one of the wittiest two hours ever presented on stage.
With such rich material here’s hoping that someone will soon take a gamble and produce a fresh modern version of a much-loved classic.
