Last Night at the Circus: Jane Postlethwaite

It’s the last night of the circus, only the clown is not hiding inner struggle behind the foolery, she I wearing it openly. Tonight Jane dropped the characters and the disguises too, going on stage as her vulnerable authentic self. Inside of that vulnerability, she spoke some of her story of a journey into mental health crisis and of her courage remaking herself anew. We laughed along with her while she artfully combined poignant storytelling with well timed physics dance interludes, metaphors and musical mood pieces. The message: there is no need to suffer in silence, share our story and we might just come to be able to find laughter too inside of suffering. Time+tragedy=comedy.
