Bent Double
Bent Double’s enthusiastic audience brought half the fun to this well established gay-friendly comedy night. Zoe Lyons was seamless as compère. Her drunk Glaswegian/ confused fly analogy was hilarious. First act Andrew Doyle was crude and quick-witted. His comedy set was political, provocative and intelligent. Not only mocking politicians, but also poking fun at the plethora of animal terminology used to stereotype gay men. Fresh-faced Joe Sutherland was slightly misplaced, with relationship material that would appeal more to a student crowd. Headliner Angela Barnes was sufficiently foul mouthed. Her 40 something in yer face jokes brought a lot of laughter to the audience of this much loved comedy night.
