Lucky Chops
With a late start due to the World Cup, it was straight to business for the New York brass band. With the drummer driving the beat and a throbbing Sousaphone providing the funky bass lines, the two saxes and trumpet played dazzling solos and worked in unison to make a powerful wall of sound. Support act Moon Hooch joined in for a triple tenor jam and the rest of the set combined soul, swing and infectious dance numbers. A salsa-fied ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ was a triumphant end to the show before they quickly returned for a seriously funky encore medley.
