He may no longer tour with The Specials but their songs made up a large portion of an emotional evening of ska and reggae classics. Given that his grandson was murdered last week it was testament to his resolve that the show went ahead and there were a few tears shed during ‘A Message To You Rudi’. Band members Joe and Jesse, from psych-pop pranksters Flipron, added colourful flourishes on keys and guitar while the rest of the group bounced their way through a bouncy set which included a rich trombone-led ‘Ghost Town’. A brave performance that took a lot of guts.
