The Wipers Times

The Wipers Times is based on a satirical newspaper written by British servicemen on the front line during the First World War.

Much of the writing is jokes, limericks and verse from the pages of the actual paper, crafted into an entertaining and historically accurate script by Nick Newman and Ian Hislop.

Alongside many of the laugh out loud lines sit music hall excerpts that highlight the futility of war and quieter moments to remind us of the personal loss and sacrifice of so many.

With its talented cast and fine staging, it’s easy to see why this excellent production is heading to the West End.
