Commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day will be marked this year on Sunday 27th January. This year’s theme will be of ‘torn from home’. ‘Home’ usually means a place of safety, a place of comfort, a place of security. But in the case of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides, this safety, this comfort, this security was lost for ever. Earlier I met up with representatives from the Lewes Holocaust Memorial Group to discuss their plans to mark the day.
