Latest TV: Sneak Peeks
One of the joys and privileges of Local TV news, is the chance for Latest TV’s multi-skilled crew to film behind the scenes at so many locations in the city, and to find out stories before they become, well, news!
Every day, Latest TV News broadcasts three times per day (twice during prime time at 6pm and 8.30pm) to share what’s happening with viewers from Brighton, Hove, Worthing and as far as South Chichester. Latest TV reaches 400,000 viewers and want to share what’s relevant to all, so that means news for young and old, all political persuasions from left-wing to right-, all interests, from arts to sports to science, and also the quirky and fun that appeals to a large number of you.
Guy Lloyd is the host of Latest TV News and this month he has been broadcasting from The Warren, the popular Fringe venue that has hosted some eye-opening shows. Next month Latest TV will be broadcasting from another star location in the city – Brighton Palace Pier. Each day, the news includes interviews and views as well as short films filmed from in and around the city.

Last week Latest TV popped over to the Royal Pavilion for a tour of their historic gardens. The Gardens are on a Historic England Heritage At Risk Register and the Royal Pavilion are appealing to the public to get involved in their consultation to determine what can be done to save the Gardens from losing their listed status. There are so many rare and beautiful plants in the garden, mainly tended by the one full time gardener whose care and attention of this fragile and complex landscape needs to be applauded.
Recently Latest TV filmed from the Amex stadium, where the turf had all been ploughed resembling a crime scene. This was quite fitting as Peter James launched his new crime thriller Dead If You Don’t from the stadium where the crime in the novel starts. Chief Constable Giles York paid tribute to Peter’s impeccable research for all his Roy Grace novels based in the city.
Another behind the scenes location for Latest TV news was at the Step Back In Time auction, where local history buff, Andy Garth worked with postcard impressario, Robert Jeeves to showcase and sell some beautiful and unusual ephemera, books and pictures from Brighton’s past.
