Tonight’s show brought five excellent stand ups together to help the Our Sansar organisation raise funds for a home for Nepalese street children. Romesh Ranganathan’s spiky wit and Matthew Crosby’s intimate confidence were both strong, but the affectionately filthy Angela Barnes and deceptively vague Sara Pascoe shared the honours for most consistently hilarious set. Headliner Marcel Lucont’s bon viveur persona cleverly twisted French and English stereotypes, his laid back delivery playing with the audience’s attention. A masterful performance, but I passed up the opportunity to chat afterwards in case he turned out not to be a real Frenchman or something.
