Brighton Heroes Run 2012

Join the superheroes taking part in the Brighton Heroes Run 2012 & take advantage of some great rewards & prizes

Heroes will run on Sunday 20 May. Will you? The Brighton Heroes Run, in aid of Pass It On Africa, will be taking place for the eighth year running, along Brighton and Hove seafront this May. The Heroes Run’s are superhero-themed running events, bringing families, communities and athletes together, all with the common goal to have fun and be active while raising valuable funds for charity.

This year, as well as supporting a great cause, when you sign up and do some fundraising for Pass It On Africa, you will be entitled to a thank-you prize. Pass It On Africa hopes that hundreds of their Heroes runners will support them this year by trying to raise a minimum of £20 each for the three African Schools the charity supports.

Thanks to the generosity of this year’s Heroes Run event partners and supporters, they also have some great prizes to encourage people to fundraise.Drink In Brighton, who is responsible for 45 of some of the best pubs and bars in the city, has created an exclusive Heroes Run fundraiser reward card. This card entitles the holder to happy hour drink prices at all Drink In Brighton pubs from now until the last day of this year’s Brighton Heroes Run weekend. If you sign up to the Brighton Heroes Run and set up an online fundraising page, as soon as you have managed to raise 50 pounds or over for Pass It On Africa, you will then receive your Heroes?Run fundraiser reward card in the post as a thank you. If you have managed to raise £100 or over by Saturday 19 May you will be entitled to either one of the 20 post race massages, a bottle of wine kindly donated by Barefoot Wine, or a complimentary post race Heroes Run photo taken in the Bat Cave on the day of the event with you and your friends.
For the top 10 fundraisers at the Brighton Heroes Run, there are some really great prizes, ranging from tickets to Bestival, membership with British Military Fitness, gym membership at Riptide Fitness Centre, beach Volleyball court hire at Yellowave, Mr and Mrs Superhero costumes, and Sunday lunch for four at the Hilton Brighton Metropole.

Thanks also to the generosity of official Heroes Run event partner, Hilton Brighton Metropole, who are supporting Pass It On Africa in a number of ways this year: one lucky fundraiser will win a deluxe sea view room for two people for two nights, with a bottle of Champagne on arrival, which also includes breakfast and afternoon tea on one day of their stay.

“I am delighted that Hilton Brighton Metropole is working with and supporting Pass It On Africa,” says Guy Hilton, Hilton Brighton Metropole general manager. “As well as this year’s star prize we will be donating £2 per every Heroes Run afternoon tea sold to Pass it On Africa until the end of the year. I am delighted to have this association as it fits perfectly with our fundraising within Hilton in the Community Foundation which supports young people in the United Kingdom and it is superb to be able to now support young people in Africa. We look forward to a long and continued relationship with Pass It On Africa.”

As in previous years runners can enter the Heroic 10K, the Super 5K or the Mini Heroes 500m Dash. Standard entry fees are £14 for the Heroic 10K, £12 for the Super 5K and £3 for the Mini Heroes 500m Dash. There is also the option of purchasing a costume at the checkout at an additional cost of £9, with every penny from costume sales going straight to Pass It On Africa to support their projects.
