Tim Burgess

With his recent shock Warhol bob now turning back to that familiar dark fringe, Tim Burgess looks impressively unchanged in the two decades since The Charlatans broke through. As tonight’s picks from the “cosmic country disco” of current album ‘Oh No I Love You’ proved admirably, Burgess’ fresh, inquisitive music has kept pace with the times. The loud but loyal crowd held back from calling for Charlatans hits, allowing Burgess and his band of indie veterans to swish through his songs unhindered by nostalgia. With his easy demeanour and light falsetto, Burgess cemented his solo credentials with grace and style.
