Life x3

Life x3 presents three versions of the same disastrous dinner party, hinting that the tiniest changes in language and reaction can have major consequences on the outcome. This idea is helped along by a wider discussion of Quantum Mechanics which attempts, but fails, to give the play intellectual ballast. The cast are good, generating sexual frustration and social tension, but the play gives them nowhere to go. Its inherent banality stifles the performances. The direction, too, is nimble and adroit. If you thought ‘Art’ was a devilishly witty and coruscating look at relationships and our attitudes to art you’ll probably love Life x3. Others might see it for the thin, pretentious pap it is. Life x 3 runs until 31st August.
