The Glenn Miller Orchestra

Tracing 70 years of international fame, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, under direction of Ray McVay performed a show that will last throughout the ages. Featuring a library of memorable swinging jazz scores, from the original 1940’s set, civilian and Air Force orchestras, as well as a Russian concerto to commemorate classic recordings to inspire future musical eras.

Most notably with, ‘Moonlight Serenade’, ‘Pennsylvania 6-5000’, ‘In The Mood’ and a Big Band jazz version of ‘Auld Lang Syne’. The WWII maestro’s arrangements were kept; using nostalgic costumes, marching band styles and upbeat tempos that kept spirits high, whilst vocalists sang individually, harmoniously and paraded crowds.

Sharp drumming and rapid trumpet shots culminated in a timeless and high-energy matinee, filled with improvised laughter, audience connection, grooving and clapping, as the powerful genre awakened people’s inner spirit and youth. Close your eyes and re-live Glenn’s wartime story of acoustic melody, remembrance and camaraderie.
