Robin Ince: The Importance of Being Interested

Probably best known for his science-themed radio shows with everyone’s favourite pop-star turned professor, Brian Cox, Robin Ince’s latest Brighton appearance was a familiarly enthusiastic humorous look at the wonders of the universe. Covering topics ranging from evolution and black holes through to the philosophy of Wittgenstein and animal penises, Ince’s two-and-a-bit hour set was already condensed from four though still required breakneck delivery. Perhaps trying to fit in too much (ie pretty much everything), an often exhaustingly shouty performance from Ince only slightly detracted from a seemingly never-ending supply of fascinating facts, furiously entertaining rants and astute observations.
