Paul Merton’s Impro Chums

Paul Merton’s Impro Chums are well known for being a slick and polished troupe, and they certainly lived up to their billing at the Brighton Comedy Festival. Like an entry level demonstration of this often under appreciated comedic art, the seasoned performers served up a fairly safe but still funny and engaging show, with some moments of real comedy gold thrown in for good measure. This certainly wasn’t one for battle-hardened improvised comedy fans, given the lack of risks and originality in the show’s format, but I doubt many of the packed crowd cared.
