Prince’s Trust team helps Shoreham community

A group of young people from City College Brighton and Hove’s Prince’s Trust ‘Team’ programme recently helped spruce up the Kingston Buci Children and Family Centre in Shoreham.

Taking on a variety of painting and gardening tasks, the team set about brightening up the centre’s outside space for the children.

This included making planters out of reclaimed tyres donated by the College’s Motor Vehicle Department.

Parent Volunteer Coordinator at Kingston Buci Children and Family Centre, Joanne Bush, said: “The Prince’s Trust Team worked really hard to create a colourful and inviting play space for the children at the centre.

“They were enthusiastic even in the bad weather and had some excellent ideas to improve the space.”

The Prince’s Trust Team programme is a 12-week personal development course which helps unemployed young people gain the skills and confidence to find a job.

Three in four young people helped by the trust move into work, training or education.

The charity has also helped 750,000 young people since 1976 and supports over 100 more each day.
