Robin Ince’s Dirty Book Club

In a world where bland, excruciatingly unoriginal stand-up comedy is becoming unrelentingly popular, Robin Ince’s Dirty Book Club was a spectacular breath of fresh air. Flanked by the instantly likeable George Egg and the wonderful Jo Neary, the king of intellectually charged offbeat comedy explored the world of seedy literature to brilliant effect. A series of readings from tacky, sex books found in charity shops, insights into the warped mind of Klaus Kinski, hilarious skits and mimes of lists of pseudonyms for sexual organs found in The Perfumed Garden were rip-roaringly funny, intriguing and perfectly silly in equal measure.
