Trio Isimsiz

The Lunchtime Concert series ended with a heavyweight programme. Schubert Notturno in E-flat major Op. 148 is beautiful, sombre and tuneful, putting us into a contemplative state in the full and warm auditorium.
Dvoràk’s Piano Trio in F minor Op. 65, written in the wake of his mother’s death, is a monumental work that was played with consummate style. However, it could in no way lighten the mood and there was no time, nor energy, for a refreshing encore, so this was a challenging programme for the players and audience alike. Their efforts were very well received with thunderous applause.
