Charity ride to save lives

Five fat blokes on bikes

Five overweight middle aged men on racing bikes are cycling from Dublin to Wexford in a day to raise money for the Brighton/Sussex based charity Grassroots Suicide Prevention. They are cycling in memory of their close friend Rob Cave who sadly took his own life two years ago.

One of the trustees of the charity, Nick Muston explained. “I am thrilled that the guys are riding in memory of our great friend Rob and raising much needed funds for our charity which trains people in suicide alertness and intervention skills. The more money they raise, the more people can be trained to save lives. No one should
face suicide alone.”

Rob was passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues because of his own experiences and aside from undertaking many challenging fundraising events himself, he also was a co-founder of The Mind Clinic which helps develop employees’ wellbeing in the workplace.

The ride took place on Saturday 17 September and people can still donate to this worthy cause. Please follow the link to the Team Caveman Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/cavemancycle
