Art, craft and design fair, featuring the best artists and designer/makers across all media

This year Tutton and Young are hosting a joint art, craft and design fair, featuring fifty each of the best contemporary artists and designer/makers across all media. Brighton Art Fair/MADE BRIGHTON will be a varied show which will be exciting and full of original and unique work. The show will take place at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.

Brighton Art Fair features some of the best contemporary artists from the UK and abroad, showing and selling their diverse work direct to the public. The fair always promotes a good balance in established and emerging artists, and insists that all work is of the highest quality, fresh and exceptional.

MADE BRIGHTON – The Design and Craft Fair will be running alongside Brighton Art Fair and will present fifty of the best contemporary designer makers in the country. Makers will be selling work ranging from cutting edge ceramics and contemporary jewellery to furniture and woven and knitted textiles.

This selling event is the perfect opportunity for visitors to chat with artists and makers, find out their inspirations and techniques and of course buy or commission work direct.

Emily Jo Gibbs will be our guest exhibitor showing her exquisite stitched work in the foyer. Emily Jo is a British artist who over the last two decades has established an international reputation for her textile pieces. Emily Jo’s current practice focuses on hand stitched textile portraits, and she has been working on a project called ‘Kids Today’ which features children from Emily Jo’s neighbourhood who would come and sit at her kitchen table; most eager to take part in the project, some less sure but keen not to miss out. Studies are constructed from pieces of different coloured 100% silk organza. The multiple layers and pieces of organza are arranged to create a subtle textile collage, which is then tacked together before being hand stitched.

The Dome café will be open for visitors to take refreshment and enjoy the show at leisure.
