Celebcity: International Animal Rescue

At this time of year I always make time to do a charity event for International Animal Rescue. It’s a charity whose work includes freeing and caring for dancing bears in India, rescuing primates from captivity in Indonesia and sterilising and vaccinating stray dogs and cats in developing countries.

Wherever possible they return rescued animals to their natural environment, but they also provide a permanent home for animals that can no longer survive in the wild.

I’m a huge animal lover and so is my friend Wendy Louise Oxburry, who puts on the event in Brighton at Hotel Pelirocco.

It’s a fabulous event and always has a great turn out. The who’s who of Brighton were all present this year.

Alan Knight, OBE, attended the event, who is the founder of the charity. He gave a moving talk about the great work the charity has done and continues to do.

This was followed by the entertainment which was myself and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Drew Cameron, who had the audience roaring with laughter with his marvellous impressions. Drew is also a fellow animal lover and this cause is close to his heart too.

The evening raised a lot of money for International Animal Rescue through the raffle, which had a whole host of amazing prizes. If you want to know more about the work they do or wish to donate to this extremely worth while charity then visit the website.
