Tango Fire

German Cornejo’s Argentinian dance troupe is considered the world’s leading Tango company and it was clear to see why as the company, comprised of several World Tango Champions, delivered a searingly sensual performance of this most passionate art form. Comprised of five pairs of well-matched dancers, their limbs intertwining with dazzling precision, the ensemble pieces resembled a torrid West Side Story, while German’s solo dances showed that you can improve on perfection. The four-piece band were enhanced by expressive vocalist Jesus Hidalgo, expertly setting the scene for performances bristling with sexual tension: a divine marriage of synchronicity and syncopation.
