Notorious Women Of Brighton Walking Tour

Walking tours are a must during the Brighton Fringe, and Louise Peskett’s captivating and engaging journey through the annals and streets of Brighton is testament as to why. Peskett is a consummate storyteller and historian, totally familiar with her subject with a genuine interest that cannot help but be contagious. Travelling from the 18th through to the 20th century, she introduces both icons of the city like Martha Gunn, as well as infamous murderers, prominent actors and movers for social change. It’s a snapshot, over an hour and a half, of life in our city – standing in the very places some of these events took place – from a refreshingly female perspective, noting the limitations of the law and convention and pushing regardless.
