Georgie Fame

The King of Cool returned to Shoreham for a night of enviable reminiscences and vibrant rhythm and blues. The Hammond organ maestro looked and sounded as youthful as ever as he delighted the capacity crowd with two sets of hits and classics that helped shape his career. Ably accompanied by his talented sons on guitar and drums, his velvet voice and breath control seemed improved with age and we were treated to some skilful scatting over his imaginative solos. The show ended with a tribute to Mose Allison and a rousing ‘I Love The Life I Live’. A genuine living legend.
