Cllr Pete West explains his view on cycle lanes in the city

EXCLUSIVE: Latest TV’s news editor Mark Walker takes a stroll along the seafront road where the controversial cycle lanes are, to keep up with Green councillor Pete West on his bike and to find out what he thinks of the cycle lane scheme and its extension. We also find out about the planned road closures around schools as part of the traffic responses to maintain social distancing. There are many opposed to the temporary measures and would like them reversed now, due to the potential impact on lives, with increased congestion and pollution, and emergency vehicles stuck in traffic, and potential impact on livelihoods, with workers stuck in traffic. Those in favour of cycle lanes cite better health benefits, and say that measures to improve the traffic infrastructure and city’s flow of traffic will take time. What do you think?
