Award-winning star of small screen, stage and more, Jimeoin took time to answer some questions for us

‘Lovely’ is such a positive title for a show. What’s your favourite bit of it?
“The bits from the book. I bring a book on stage that has thoughts from the day and new ideas. It’s not always the funniest part of the night but the bit I enjoy the most.”

You seem to enjoy the details of life. Do you find some days are punchline attacks for observations or do you have to actively seek out each gag?
“Sometimes if it’s a good enough observation then you don’t need a joke, I think. Might be wrong there though. Just doing gags can wear a bit thin.”

What makes you chuckle every single time you see it?
“There is a fashion designer in Oz called Luke Perry who has photos of himself as a fashion designer. It’s all very serious, or is it? Could be comedy genius. Anyway, makes me laugh.”

You’ve done TV, movies, documentaries and of course stand-up. What’s your next big ambition?
“To keep doing them. Getting away with this is a big achievement.”

What’s your next small ambition?
“Finish this questionnaire.”

Primarily based in Australia, which comics will you be trying to catch the latest shows of while you’re in the UK?
“Someone who is really ****. Last thing I want to see on a night of is another comic who is really good. That’s not relaxing! I don’t know. There are so many.”

What’s your secret indulgence?
“Hookers and a bit of S and M.”

Are you ‘Lovely’?
“Oh yes.”
