Ty Segall
He may be only 30 but Ty Segall has recently released his 10th album and easily sold out The Concorde on a Monday night. There was a mosh pit from beginning to end as his superbly talented band nearly blew out the venue’s walls with a powerhouse performance of psychedelic garage rock, with only a trio of slower numbers to offer respite from the frenzied delivery. They played the heaviest Hot Chocolate cover imaginable and Segall proved himself a master of the slow build-up leading to electric, extended finales. This was pure energy, raw power rock ‘n’ roll at its finest.
