With over a decade of success under their belt as the leading sales and lettings agency in Brighton, the directors at MTM Property Services felt it was time for a change. Speaking to MD, Leon Mepham, we delve in to find out why the change and what the future holds.

We’re always looking to improve the way we operate, and after consultation with the fantastic branding agency UnitedUs, we identified areas we could, and needed to, evolve. The way we interact with our tenants, landlords and each other needed improvement so we’ve made huge cultural changes, and employed more staff to help us deal with the volume of work more efficiently and in a more friendly, helpful and transparent manner.

That’s a huge change for your business. I’m curious, what was behind the rename?
With so much change it became clear that we are no longer the same business we were as MTM and we wanted to make that clear to the market. The word means “to bring together”, which fits really well with what we’re trying to achieve. We really want to focus on building strong relationships between our tenants, our landlords and each other.
We’ve employed a whole new maintenance department who deal with maintenance issues full time. We have an online reporting app which works through our website, so tenants can report maintenance with photographs – 24/7. We’ve also made some cultural changes and educated the staff to deal with every situation more sympathetically. We have a brand-new office which is great, custom designed by the folks over at Chalk Architecture, welcoming and energetic in its look, which personifies us as an agency.


What do you have planned for your new brand moving forwards?
Challenging preconceptions of what is usually expected from our industry! We really want to be open honest, friendly and approachable. We’ve got such a great team and I want them to show the industry how clients, tenants and everyone we interact with should be treated. We’ve had some excellent feedback from tenants and landlords so far who feel they’re getting the personal touch and attention they deserve.
We’ll keep improving our processes, listening to feedback and providing a better service for tenants and landlords.
We believe we’re on to a good thing which will help us grow further as an agency. We’re well know for student lettings and buy-to-let sales, and feel it’s now time to develop our residential sales and professional lettings divisions.
